Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you to express my interest in the volunteer position for the upcoming sporting event. I believe I am an excellent fit for the job because I am an enthusiastic sports fanatic and a great team player -not only on the field but also in the office-. 

When I organized a fundraising for a new school building together with my classmates, I noticed how much fun it is to work together and that being a good leader is in my nature. People have always described me as a go-getter with a bubbly personality, which can be very useful at a sporting event such as the one you organise. 

Due to my multi-lingual upbringing, I speak 4 four languages; English, Finnish, Chinese and Spanish. Last year I used my language skills to teach at a little Mexican school where I taught young children basic English to use in their life. During my stay in the little town, me and the other teachers planned multiple school trips to get the kids out of the slums and give them a view of how life can be if they proceed their education. This taught me how you can best deal with unexpected problems, such as kidnapped children and aggressive street dogs, and how to calm down scared and angry people. 

I find that my personality and work experience form a great fit for the position of volunteer at the sporting event and I do hope that you agree with me. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
